I have worked in photography since I had an afterschool job in a black and white photolab and portrait studio, I have sold cameras, been a sales rep and owned a 1 hour photolab. I have never formally learnt photography but I have taught it. It is definetly a trade where the diploma you hang on the wall is nowhere near as important as the results of your craft. I refuse to call photography art because there are far too many fakes and posers in the art world, and I can see nothing wrong with being refered to as a craftsman.
